The following note addresses what you can expect when visiting our venue. This was made with support from and proof read by members of various communities to best understand direct/actual impacts or implications in our set up on different groups of people.
Any and all people that have accessibility needs/support requirements are invited to contact us directly so we may answer any specific queries or give us a heads up so we can ensure your visit is as comfortable, carefree and without barriers.
Location
The venue is located approximately 200m from various public transport means (Peckham Rye Rail Station & various bus stops with on the door drop off (please contact us directly so we can guide vehicles as close as possible).
What3Words - ///fight.like.crunch
The main approach is a well lit and wide private trading estate with low traffic located off of Blenheim Grove - located opposite All Saints Church between Rye Lanez Tattoo Parlour and Dovedales Cafe, directly underneath Peckham Rye Railway Station.
Private vehicles are able to pull up/drop off directly in front of the venue, although this may require guidance and is strictly for drop off only. No parking or long stay is permitted.
Victorian cobblestone is exposed as flooring in some sections throughout the venue which can be uneven in places.
U18s
We are a bar and as such advertise almost exclusively to an 18+ audience. Families and young people are welcome at our venue at all times where it is considered appropriate for young people to be here. If the venue ever gets crowded or noise levels above what you’d find in day to day life we may ask these young people to leave the venue. Generally this is after 8pm Fridays and Saturdays but is not exclusive to this.
Children should always be kept in the immediate care and vicinity of their parent or guardian and should not be allowed free reign of the venue without direct supervision at all times.
Pets
We welcome pets at our venue but ask that they always be kept on a leash at all times when inside and may ask they be carried throughout the venue when moving around if there is any crowding, simply for their own safety. We would also remind guests that not everyone is an animal lover so please be sensitive to other people’s personal reactions and sensibilities regarding pets especially if they bark or are known to get overly excitable/familiar.
Please see the above note on U18s and children as the same rules apply to any pets and we reserve the right to ask for them to leave the venue at any time we feel it is no longer a suitable environment for them.
Any type of service dog is of course allowed at all times as they will have undergone the appropriate training to be suited to a loud and busy environment, however for both your comfort we may offer an alternative space in the venue that might assist with any kind of emergency situation should it occur.
Toilets
The venue has large gender neutral bathrooms with 5 stalls/cubicles and a large urinal however there is currently no wheelchair accessible bathroom.
Sound
We employ DJ’s every Friday & Saturday night from 8pm meaning ambient volume increases from what we would characterise as “background” to "noticeable / obvious”. It never reached anything like "nightclub" level and the aim is always to be able to have a conversation with the person next to you without strain.
Lighting
Lighting in the venue is subject to the British weather. Lighting used is uplighting or ambient and should be considered "suitably lit” but people with visual impairments may struggle in low light evenings.
Neurodivergence
Neurodivergent people, as it usually expresses differently for everyone are always invited to inform a member of the team if they may need help finding a less busy part of the venue or anything else that may help with overstimulation, however we are sometimes at the mercy of the impact other guests may have on the space impacting each person’s sensory experience.
Often we do have large tables outside the front of our venue which remains without speakers and rarely gets overcrowded
